Yes, I found the problem. The new FL gear I bought is slightly different
than the original gear. It has differnetly shaped flanges on it which
prevent the large black loading gear from rotoating far enough to engage
the teeth on the slide plate. Put the original gear back in and I can
load everything up into play position. I have to order a whole kit of
gears to do the repair properly. Sony # A-7040-474-C
