What doe's it do when connected on video out? bypass converter.

Hi Gavin,
You said you cleaned the heads, and I would assume you demagnetized them
also?  My first thoughts would be that some magnetic material has adhered or
embedded itself in one side.  Have you tried different tapes, and the line
is still there?  If so, it may very well be the video heads are the culprit.
You should drag out your trusty video head tester and test them?
ASTI #550 is the replacement for those, they're about $26.00 dollars plus
s/h...
