This is hard to describe. The picture looked like it was devided in half
down the middle. One side was almost normal,(left or right side, didn't
specify) the other half dark, negative video, "solarised" as the tech
said. OSD looked normal all the way across. Sony insisted it was a
digital comb filter module. Tech ordered one, installed it. No help. He
pulled out the ol scope and looked at the R,G,B outputs of the video
chroma jungle while feding a staircase video pattern. He saw the distortion.
Cure: Replace the video chroma jungle IC355 (CXA2131AS) located on the
main board.
Submitted by a local ASC shop.
