Assisting a local tech.
Powers on, picture becomes bright white with retrace and shuts down with
7 blinks. Sony wasn't a help.
Appears like a typical excess CRT drive with ABL shut down. The +200V
source to CRT is there, and gets to the three CRT video outputs OK.
I had him unsolder one heater pin on CRT to allow the tube to not draw
current, with the CRT board still connected to see if now it would stay
up and running. it still shuts down. With a different blink.
Sony said some sets would get bright red and shut down due to solder
connections at conn CN2805,CN2803 on the "BY" board. No help here, but
tech still suspects the BY board. Any ASCs out there?
