This guy used a power generator for his house during the hurricanes. Dead, fuses OK. First, noticed HOT collector had short to gnd. Lifted HOT, short still on the +135V line. Traced back (no easy task) to the main SMPS source. SMPS T603 pin17, to rectifiers D611 and D624 (both OK). Then there's a zener to ground in this output, D614 (EZ0150AV1 / 8-719-057-52). I think it's 150V a clamp for when the source climbs too high. Shorted. Lifted it, all shorts gone. Any ideas on this? I can either just lift it and try powering up, or sub a crude substitute as test (say two 75v in series=150V). Anyone seen this diode be bad, and anything else usually goes?
