The flybacks are a common failure on these but don't forget the high voltage
block itself.

Subject: [TechAssist] Sony KP53V75 RA-2A - audio pops and convergence focus
and color change for instant

Hi guys ,

I have this Sony that has a strange problem. every now and then the set will
make a loud pop noise and this pop effects the focus, convergence and
basically wipes the video leaving just raster then pix goes back to normal
and cycle repeats at next pop. I have disconnected the tubes one by one but
can still hear the pop (both hv lead and crt socket) I have removed the 200v
source feed to the tubes and have removed the focus lead to the focus block
but pop noise still heard. Checking voltages with a peak meter I found the
biggest voltage drop on the G2 line , drops to 51v when nothing connected.
and the B+ line goes from .4a current draw to 1.2 - 1.4 amp draw for an
instant. My guess is the flyback but wondering if anyone had this happen to
them.

thanks for any input
