Dan, There is a good chance if one IC failed, the other may fail soon. If you guarantee your work, it is better for you to replace both together. Thank you Bob & all who replied, I did replace the convergence IC (STK4278L) with a good quality replacement. I only had one in stock, however, one was all I needed luckily for this repair. I replaced the one STK4278L convergence IC that had over 9 "definite" bad -"completely ring cracked open" - solder connections on the IC (resoldering them did not help). The other IC had good solder connections and luckily did not require replacement (good for me because I only had one left in my stock). Also replaced the one 3.15A fuse, the other fuse was ok because the other IC was ok. Test played the set and all is like new again! Thanks to All.
