I like the rear window defogger repair kits myself. Just clean the pad 
and contacts on the board with alchohol, paint the conductive ink(? or 
whatever it is) lightly onto the pad, let dry, reassemble and they work 
like new. I think the kit was like 8 bucks and I've made 10 times that 
back out of it already and still have half the little bottle of 
condusive left. I even fixed my cordless phone touchpad with it 3 months 
ago, and no problems so far.
