Hi Ken:
Gave you a call just before. Have read reports that the
new batch of these RCA has made up are defective. Other shops are reporting
same problems in other online groups too. If interested, I have some
available with the older Date code, before this problem was induced. As you
say, the bad ones have a 2004 date code - the ones I have for sale are date
code 3/11/2004 and wont have this problem.
PS: The Flyback Number is RCA 239111 , drawing No. 1512812D

Had customer bring in the lightbox. Set was dead. Flyback T14401, RCA
239111 bad. None in stock. Ordered two.
Put in new flyback. Found no other problems. Ran set 24 hours. Sent
home. Unit failed after one week. Customer smelled smoke.
Brought back this morning. Found flyback arcing from side. Put in new
flyback--happy that I had ordered two. Set appeared to run fine.
Customer had waited, so took home with him. Unit popped and failed less
than a hour later. Brought back.
Second flyback arcing to core with crack in the side of it.
Anyone else having trouble with the 239111, or is there something I could
have missed?
