Phil, when it fails will turning up the G2 give you anything? Does OSD work
when it goes black?While your checking for cracks/breaks as Al suggested,
don`t forget to check the 2 outside traces at the left rear  of the main
board usually have to use a magnifying glass to see the break. Have you
changed the infamous CR4118? I`ve
seen it cause interm. video, If you have no OSD and G2 gives you nothing you
may be in Scan Loss, let us know, good luck, Larry E
