I wouldn't put a MAT Flyback in a RCA or Sony or any brand. Why take
chances. You might get a bad RCA one time or another, I haven't ever, but a
MAT replacement, no way. Order the original. We have never had a ATC113
flyback come in bad. But..I remember back when I did order MAT or other so
called replacements and I had to bend legs out of proportion, solder wires
to board where pins go, hang screen/focus assemblies off the side of the
chassis instead of them being on the flyback, you name it, they do it in the
name of saving a buck. Not me, no more, ever.

Subject: [TechAssist] RCA Flybacks

I have seen the discusion lately on some reliablity issues on RCA Flybacks.
I will be ordering a 257805 for a F32650 ATC113CA1 that was dead and the
tranformer wont ring.
So do I order the orginal RCA # 257805, or one of the replacements ie
HR8934, or supergenerics from MAT ie ITC-113, Electronix, etc. (prices
range from Electronix generic 257805 at $22 to Electronica's list on the HR
of $32.95)
