That is plain sick. I guess we are supposed to lose money and time making
sure we don't get the wrong parts but we get the wrong parts anyway. These
sets are cheap too. No one is going to replace a SSB or tube out of
warranty. At least I am having problems getting COD's approved. They are
forcing us to charge high deposits and estimates on these sets. Somebody has
to pay. The sad part is Wal-Mart wouldn't approve a $375 estimate after they
talked me down on one in my shop now and the SSB cost me that much, not
counting the labor. He said he could buy this HD52w59 for $800. It has a
ITC222 chassis in it just like a D52w19 that I just had to replace a SSB on
and barely got that customer to approve. I am raising my deposits on these
sets to $175 for the extra time and the parts availability.

It is MUCH worse than that, guys.
For example, D52w19 currently has five "flavors" of which four are the
itc222 chassis and one is the atc221 chassis.
Now, if that isn't bad enough, d52w19byx1 can have one of four different
blue CRTs and two different blue kine boards!
Most of these sets can of two or more different deflection power supply
boards, each with a different flyback.
So, whenever you need assistance on an RCA you need the entire service
number.
I am an RCA fan, but jeez, these guys are pushing the limits.
