Seems to me the digital compression is what does it.  I've seen two sets,
one plasma, one CRT, about the same diameter, next to one another, and the
plasma screen looked like an oil painting: (looks like) low definition (in
fact it's not, although i have the feeling some details get lost),
artificial colors... I think that's why they mostly show cartoons or dvd
movies when they're putting plasma screens on display.
