This TV was plagued with a bunch of cold solder joints. The main
culprits were on the stand-up board which contains the micro and relay
circuits. Probing around with my DMM caused the TV to fire up, scared
the crap out of me, then it was simply a hunt and peck method to isolate
the intermittent(s).

why don't you look at the relay driver transistor base? many times the
transistor IS the problem.
