Steve...from experience Bob is correct. His scenario below is exactly
what happened to the one I scrapped. I have Bob's copy of the
preliminary checks, and step for step, that what happened. So before you
get too far into it, and look for parts, new or used....do the checks,
and go from there.

I think you may be wasting your time...What has happened on
these
sets.......(1) The Bose SMPS fails 2 - 1000....caps.. Destroying the
Bose
Amp sending B+ into the front speakers (shorting them). The new Bose
Amp
gets destroyed at turn on with the shorted speakers..... I have a spare
copy
of the Preliminary Schematics you can have...Let me know.....
