David,
The purpose of this diode is to protect the capacitor from AC in case the
main Diode fails.
I will upload the spec sheet to the download area in the IC directory.

Subject: [TechAssist] Microwave Oven "short protector diode" information

Hi Techs.
Need a little information about microwave oven "short protector diodes"
(installed across both leads of the h/v capacitor on microwave ovens)?
This is the first one I ran across on a commercial oven that has them, one
across each cap., and not sure what it is designed for, to short out if the
maggy fails, or the cap itself, "guess I need a microwave refresher course"?
Ref. number on diode 2X062H.
Thanks for any information! Have a great day. David.
