Ben, I ask time and time again, place the model number in the subject line... When people first go to the Tech assist archive for help, the subject line is the firs thing they see. From Tech Repair CD: Magnavox\27F8\Failure of the Vertical Output IC* 7401\\\27F8\Replace IC 7401 with Service Code 9322 121 47687\There have been late production changes to the 25/27F8 chassis\In the Vertical Output stage diode 6404 has been replaced by a 75 volt zener* Service Code 9331 180 00133.\ This was effective in the factory beginning September 1999\If the Vertical Output IC 7401 is replaced as a service repair* zener should be installed in place of diode at 6404 (grid C-8) units built before September 99\\\\ Jeff Dougherty Intrepid Video TV/VCR 263 S Front St Steelton PA 17113 fax...717-564-4952 www.intrepid-video.com www.tech-repair.net ----- Original Message ----- From: "ben daniels" <benstv74820@xxxxxxxxx> To: <techassist@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Thursday, May 22, 2003 1:53 PM Subject: [TechAssist] Magnavox verticle problem Mod: TS2746C221 chassis 27F8 cd manual # 7583 on cd 2003 #2. Set came with open resistor 3488 4.7 in horz. deflection circuit that supplies vert. ic 50v. Replace it and vert. ic 7401. Now unit will burn resistor 3409 1.5 ohm when turned on. 50v line being pulled down. also pin 5 shows to be zero volts has 3.0v. If you take the load off by unplugging yoke resistor stops burning. Is the yoke possibly bad or what am I missing? Thanks ===== Randy Daniels Ben's TV Repair 1703 No. Brdwy. Ada, Okla. 74820 __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? The New Yahoo!
