2nd Update after calling Philips technical (see my bottom orig post):
I called Philips,Ken was very helpful.
I mentioned the shut down after an hour, then half hour, etc, getting
worse. Also mentioned the channel number OSD bouncing all over the
screen just before it shut down, then the two blinks of the power button
LED after shut down.
Ken did say this is typical of the SSB board (PH313912725881). He says
the two blinks error means vertical protect. But since the picture was
stable, and only the OSD flipped vertically, then not a deflection
issue. That SSB with the micro on it was sending bad signal and
triggering the vertical protect shutdown. He just about bet the farm on
that. The OSD flip, stable p[icture, two blinks, all point to that board
he said.
I guess I will figure the estimate with the SSB and see.
I understand with changing the SSB board, convergence has to all be
redone. I would like some feedback as to the time for that, so as to
adjust my cost estimate properly.
And does anyone have the PDF on this? I will need info to enter service
mode,adjust,etc.
I will let the group know my results.
Either cheers or tears!

Update:
The last time it shut down, I noticed the OSD characters were all over
the screen jumping. (not the picture, the OSD channel number). Would
this small "SSB: next to the tuner do this?
I am just paranoid ordering a 150.00 board as an "experiment".
I will contunue to selectivle heat areas of the chassis to isolate the
offending area.
