If you have a scope check the SCL and SDA lines.  Sometimes something loads
one or the other down and it really screws up the system control micro.  The
last one I had it tuned out to be the tuner - I unsoldered the SDA and SCL
at the tuner and the signal returned to 5v amplitude - changed the tuner and
it was fixed..
