The digital array sets set up just the same until you get to the initialization. If after you get it to store and then try to initialize the magic fokus [I love the name it isn't magic and it isn't fokus] it will try and then give you an error because their isn't any. Your problem seems to be that it is not saving the data when you hit pip mode, pip mode. The move button on some sets. no green dots? I have seen in our shop this failure to save but don't know the fix / or if it was fixed. I will ask around tomorrow. Using the 3 x3 and then the5x7 mode I didn't think it was so bad. you can turn off the unused color with the menu button. try just roughing in a bit then saving till you get the save to work. I have also found in the fine adj mode that looking and adjusting at the intersection to the left of the courser when looking at horz lines will take out the s curving. Perry, Can't complain, too damn tired!! Doing a 43UWX10B same scenario.. Sent the board to PTS and now I have a nightmare re-setting the geometry and convergence. Got out the overlay and did the geometry and after 3 hours of that I got to the part of saving... Fouled something and it didn't take, so back to square one... You're right Hitachi engineers must have been sipping at the hooch when they designed the geometry/convergence for these models. Bill William H. I hate to start out this request this way, but..is there any harder brand to converge than Hitachi? With all those dotted lines and "s" curves between adjustment points is ridicules. And the numbers they chose to move the dotted lines: 2, 4, 5, 6 . There is no rhyme or reason. Also using that stupid thumbwheel to move is terrible especially if the wheel is a little worn. I hate them. My God, every other digital alignment on all other brands is usually straight forward, NO DOTTED LINES FLASHING!! And your eyesight is preserved. My question is How do you save the convergence alignment with this model 50DX10B. It has the Digital Array button on front not Magic Focus. I have never seen this digital array, I have done many with the Magic Focus, no problem. They changed it up on this one. The Manual says to Hit PIP button once to see Rom Write? on screen then Hit PIP again to save, the screen should go to green dots. Then you can initialize the sensors and save that data. Mine just goes to a center crosshatch and doesn't save anything when I press PIP. I spent 3 hours twice now trying to save my work. I had the convergence board rebuilt by PTS and for some reason they completely realigned it, Why, I don't know. I wish someone could explain why PTS makes more work for us like that. They even sent a piece of paper in the box that said you have to do a complete full convergence after receiving the board back. Seems they would send a little cheat sheet in the box as to how if they are going to fool with the adjustments. I know the IC's and some resistors were burnt, but..I have never seen having to do a complete full alignment after replacing those. I wish PTS wouldn't do that! Sorry for the moaning, but after losing my data so may times after hours, I am frustrated with this crazy design. I am surprised no one else complains about this.
