Subject: [TechAssist] Hitachi 46UX7BC PROJO, AP11 chassis slow to come on,
smeared dark picture.

This set has an unusual problem. If the set is left off for several
hours or overnight, it takes 3 pushes of the power button for the set to
come on. It will then go off and on with no delays using the power
button. All caps check good in the start up circuit and the power
supply.

When the set does come on the picture has a flaring problem that is more
noticeable with printing. The flaring or smearing goes to the right of
the printing or person's face. As the set warms up the smearing
lessens. This sounds like caps in the comb filter or PIP board. Anyone
have experience with this chassis? Thanks.
