GOES DEAD IN 5 SECS
MODE SWITCH- CHECK ALIGNMENT- CHECK PINCH ROLLER PLACEMENT

Also, Phil, I have heard of the LED, causing these to shut down. It may be
low, if you have one, replace it.
Check the VCR prisms also for dust.
