Yes, Larry.
I have done this before.
Take the deck out,...and chuck it.
Remove BOTH end sensors, and put wire shorts in thier place.
Then remove, and wire the mode switch to the stop, or eject position.
It's just a matter of fooling the micro-p into thinking the deck and basket
are still in the set, and in position.
