Solution was an open solder connection on main relay. It looked like somebody had used solder wick to remove the solder. Weird! I have only seen 2 of this model of Pioneer, and both times I missed an obvious bad connection on the deflection PCB the first time checking the set over. The color of the PCB must be different from other sets that I am used to. R144 must be OK because the set fired up no problem in the customer's home.
