Most of the Time these split apart if you unhook the Clips that hold the 2
Pieces together. I use a Q-Tip, and I rip off a small Piece of Scotch Brite
, wrap it around the cotton on the Q-Tip - then push it into the grooves
where the Metal fingers ride to make contact. This Shines it up pretty well.
Then I wipe the Fingers once or twice with Fine Sandpaper, being careful not
to dislodge them from the base.
A bit of LPS or WD40 on the Q-Tip, and rubbed over the shiny metal will
ensure it remains cleaner longer. Just use enough to coat the surface
lightly as a protectant.
