Ron,
I've got Norton AV and its set to Auto-Run right out of the Box. So take a
look at your Launch or Systray (right hand box at bottom) and see if you
have a small icon with a blue first aid kit in front of a yellow Monitor or
door....it's a yellow box....Anyways double click it , go to options when
Norton AV opens and click on "Enable Auto Protect". This will disable Norton
until you re-enable it.
