just had one in the shop with the same problem, and tech help isolate that
the flyback was bad, well the flyback is on continuous backorder, so it is
pretty much nla, we had to have the tv replaced for the custoemr.

We have in our shop a Curtis Mathes model CM27001S ,Its a 2001 model made by
Samsung. As soon as you turn the set on the sound comes on and it shuts down
,If you turn the screen control down it won't turn off until you advance the
screen control ,Before it goes off their is a picture and it is normal just
for a second, Even turning the isolation xformer down to 65 voltes the set
does the same thing ,We have no service information on this chassis. Thank
