Could the typical bad grounds in the tuner cause the same kind of symptoms? I found some bad connections in the tuner that I repaired. Maybe I will just take back the chassis and hope for the best. =20 Kevin Wilks Kevin's TV & Video Repair Penticton BC Canada kevintv@xxxxxxx=20 =20 -----Original Message----- From: techassist-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:techassist-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Philip Bader Sent: Saturday, May 31, 2003 6:40 AM To: techassist@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [TechAssist] Re: CTC-187CN Set works for 2 weeks, won't turn on,unplug and plug back in, works. Just a guess. If it takes two weeks to happen and removing AC restores it, sounds like the customer may be having some power fluctuations in the home, very briefly, that lock up the micro. We know about the older Zeniths that commonly did this, and unplugging was the "cure". Also the RCA CTC195-197 chassis were susceptable and would lose all sound.EEPROM got corrupted, unplugging cleared that and restored the audio. It's the "two weeks" thing that makes me think it's not an internal issue. Phil Bader Kevin wrote: >=20 > Just brought in chassis for this set as it is a 31=94 set.
