I took a look at the circuit, I am pretty sure you can
use a nte577 at that place, and you are on the safe side
voltage, current, and speed wise (that is one choice
among several hundred possible very fast switching
high current diodes, you do not really need the
1000 piv feature, but it wont't hurt either)
