[TechAssist] Advent Q2735A horizontal blanking bar

I have an Advent Q2735A with a wide black bar down the center of the screen.
If the focus control is adjusted the bar will almost disappear.
This set has a doorknob cap .001/15KV between the flyback and the CRT focus.
Well, it could be just a filter as it has two HV lead inputs but is soldered
to the PCB.
It could be a bad cap or could be the flyback.
Has anyone run across this before?
