A few details and reminders from our meeting last night. Students: Please bring a folder and notebook to keep at the shop. We will use these to draw up ideas for robot designs. Students and Mentors: If you have a laptop please bring it on Saturday as we will need to download as many copies of the game manual as possible. Later this week you should be able to download an encrypted version of the manual here: http://www.usfirst.org/roboticsprograms/frc/content.aspx?id=452 at the end of the kickoff broadcast, they will give us the key to decrypt the information. The agenda for Saturday is: 9:00 am arrive at Eiger Lab Classroom 9:30-11:30 Broadcast Live 11:30-12:30 Pizza lunch 12:30 - 1:30 - Groups of 3-4 students review the game and robot sections of manual and discuss scoring possibilities, strategies, and robot design limitations 1:30-2:00 - Team meeting to clarify questions about the game rules and robot rules 2:00 - 3:00 - Groups of 3-4 students get together and sketch as many top level robot designs as possible, including descriptions of how they work or operating details (multiple views to show specific actions). 2:30 or 3:00 - Adam arrives with the kit of parts 3:00 - 3:30 - 4ish - Inventory taken on the kit of parts Let me know if you have any questions.
