[TCUG] Upgrade of Siemens 3U to GSM

Ladies and Gents,
Some information if you will
I seem to recall that an authority 'up north' (Manchester??) were
upgrading Siemens OMU's to operate on GSM for a 'reasonable' sum
(somewhat more 'reasonable' than 'big blue' anyway!)
Any more info??
