[TCUG] Re: Old lanterns

I can confirm he's not the guy responsible for the vanishing act but
I'm hoping there may be a couple of the metal ones still in use
somewhere. I imagine some of the large authorities with as huge amount
of signals and a dwindling maintenance budget may still have some...
fingers crossed.

Thanks Peter

I feel sorry for the guy - provided he didn't collect some of it from
our
poles.

No problem with plastic units - but metal lanterns...........does
anybody
still use them?

Regards

Grahame.

You may have heard about a young man by the name of Simon Patterson
who
collects traffic signal equipment as a hobby... mostly lanterns. He
appeared on the Paul O'Grady show a few weeks ago and they arranged to
ship a selection of equipment down to London for the show.

On it's return to Simon's home in Knowsley (Merseyside) however, much
of the equipment was damaged quite badly, especially the old metal
lanterns.

If anyone is about to replace any such equipment in future, I would be
most grateful if you would bear Simon in mind and let me know so that
some arrangements can be made to get hold of one or two of these
units.

Many thanks

Peter
