Dave Try pages 14, 15, 23, 40, 41. All mention "On Crossing Detection" in some way shape or form. Like Stephen up in Leeds, we usually mount them diagonally, but on one way roads would mount them on the primary poles (pedestrians should naturally want to look at the traffic and should walk generally in that direction rather than turn their back on it) Hope this helps. This details all locations and alignments with considerable detail. Does anyone have any experience of the optimum position for oncrossing detector. I.E do they need to be mounted on poles diagonally opposite each other or can they be mounted on poles that share the same stud line. The question arises on one way roads and on staggered exit peds on junctions with toucan facilities i.e which poles do you make as the tall and which do you make as the short?
