Here is Southend we have 8 stand alone puffins on approach to roundabouts non signalised. They are normally sited 30 meters before the roundabout. After an issue was raised identical to the one you refer we have installed Giveway markings and illuminated give way signs on the roundabout. All of our locations are dual carriageway approaches and we have installed Giveway signs on the nearside and offside of the approach. As far as I am aware we have not had any accidents at any of the locations the first sites were installed around 7 years ago. Does anyone else have puffins or pelicans on the immediate approach to (non-signalised) roundabouts? If so how many do you have, and how close are they to the roundabout give way? Has this led complaints by motorists being confused and believing that a green signal gives them priority onto the roundabout? Has it led to any accidents that you are aware of? Please discuss!
