Hey folks,
tried a neat experiment tonight ... using cheap chinese 5V laser diodes and
over-driving them with 120V
will create a brilliant display of light and heat for a short period of time.
Enough to light an AP motor
(at least White Lightning)!!
My only worry about this is that it could come out of the engine before
ignition and it could cause
something disastrous like retinal damage (I used red light laser eye shields
while testing).
Very cool idea though, at $5 for 10, it's down to 50 cents a pop, but I think
it's too
dangerous for use ...
Anyhow, what do people think?
