I have two low-power ones that fly on 5 motor clusters I am planning to bring.

Subject: [tccrockets] Re: Moonwalk Launch (Saturday July 20th)
Hey Everyone,
Quick update - as y'all would guess, we're going to have an Apollo/Saturn
competition on July 20th.
Saturn-V Contest1) Best finish (attention to detail)2) Best Lift-off (special
attention to F1 realism)3) Best Flight
4) Best Recovery5) Best Overall (all of 1-4)
There will be Bronze awards for 1-4) and possibly up to 2 Silver awards for 5)
(Best overall).More details to come ...
I know we have at least fliers, don't everyone all yell at once - but who is
flying a Saturn-V?
Thanks!

Thanks for trying. Too bad the request to extend the launch was not granted,
but it still sounds like it will be a very cool launch, and it is nice we can
extend it into the evening a bit. Usually it’s hard for me to justify a trip
for a 1-day launch, but this is definitely an exception, and I will be there —
failure is not an option! (Wait… that’s a different Apollo mission.)
I think there were some Apollo-themed contests planned for Dairy Aire. Are any
of those rolling over to this launch?

Nope. We can't have anyone at the launch site until the actual launch. This is
for a multitude of reasons.

Hey Folks,
This has been the most difficult year for rocketry on record! We had our
shutdowns from the FAA earlier this year and then the heaviest monsoon season
to date.
We hadn't cancelled DA (DairyAire) like that since 2015 and from what I found
out,it is good we did (the field was a swamp).
Anyhow, some folks asked me to get an extension for 2-days for the July
(Moonwalk) launch and I tried, but unfortunately that request was denied.
The first manned spacecraft landing on the Moon was at 1:17 p.m. PDT (20:17:40
UTC) on July 20, 1969, when the Apollo 11 Lunar Module, the Eagle, landed in
Mare Tranquillitatis, located at 0°4'5"N latitude, 23°42'28"E longitude on the
moon.
So the July 20th launch will happen on the same date, 50 years later. Although
it is a one-day launch,I do plan to keep the range open until Sundown (which
would be 8:24 PM PDT) and am expecting a moment of silence and possibly a
launch of the largest Saturn-V vehicle around 1:17PM.
All that being said, we will make plans for an Apollo commemorative T-shirt and
you can pick that up at the July Launch. I really suggest that everyone who
hasn't signed up for this shirt please do the same since it will be a one of a
kind collector edition (signup link here:

FYI - we'll have our next big 3-day launch ("October Skies") on October
18,19,20 so make sure to save the datefor that launch weekend.
Best regards-James
