I did not remove the flywheel or install a new clutch. I probably should have except that I have no problems in there, so I didn't do that or replace the seal. So all the parts that are on the engine are unchanged. If the splines on the tranny do not match up and will not allow mating, then I'm just screwed. ----- Original Message ----- From: sammie smith To: tcb@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Saturday, February 03, 2007 11:31 AM Subject: [tcb] Re: The engine is still not in. denis: Are you sure you have the bell housing clearanced enough? Did you have the pressure plate off? If so, did you make sure you had the clutch aligned correctly? Did you put in a new clutch disc? If so did you check before installation to make absolutely certain the splines on the disc move smoothly on to the mainshaft before you installed it? The splines on clutch discs are not always exactly correct and will not slide onto the mainshaft and you will get exactly the problem you are experiencing. Something's binding and you need to find out what without forcing the engine in. ("That's what she said" joke here) I quit and spent a normal evening like a normal person. Back at it today. if I don't get it in today, either a bunch of you geniuses will have to come up and figure it out or I'm not going to Galveston. Andrew is pretty close by, but he has this real life with a cute wife and the cute little Emily, so I don't think I'll beg him to bail me out. I should be able to fix this.
