Thanks! I will try that in the morning.

I thought about cutting the hose but had the sense to check first to see if I could buy a new one and it looks like they are no longer available.

I had the same problem when I pulled the tank in my 74. It was like the hose was glued on... I used a tiny screwdriver and carefully worked it up into the hose then worked it around until I could twist it off. I was able to get
it off without doing any damage to the hose.

Good luck!

Subject: [tcb] Removing a fuel tank

Ugh! I am trying to get the fuel tank out of my '68. I got it to the
point where everything is unattached and it is ready to come out but I
can't get the filler tube detached. The clamp is undone and not a
problem. So is it just a matter of strength? Does anybody have a
helpful hint?
