water pumps on a vanagon are a pain in the ass. the best thing to do is remove the compressor, all of the A/C brackets, remove the pulley from the water pump and then access the remaining bolts. don't forget that after you replace the pump, you have to bleed the air out of radiator. there is a bleeder screw on top of the radiator behind the upper grill on the passenger side. jack the front end up about 8 inches, start the engine, get it warmed up so the thermostat is open and then slowly open the bleeder until all of the air is removed. hope this helps. if not, I know that BAP/GEON carries the bentley manual/bible for vanagons. The next available time I have is about 3 weeks away. ---mark aka "the vanagon guy" jumpinjoe <jumpinjoe@xxxxxxxxxxxx> wrote: Mark maybe you can help? http://www.aircoolers.org/forums/showthread.php?t=2896 http://www.jumpinjoebarnett.com ________________________________________________________________ Sent via the EV1 webmail system at mail.ev1.net
