Went off by myself the other weekend to camp out on our 6 acres in Waller
County. Camped alongside the pond, and watched quail, deer, doves, etc. all
come for a drink during the stay.
Spent two nights and three days of just reading, and playing ham radio from
the bus. Weather was overcast, cool, and sometimes drizzly, but nice.

We're going to Europe during last part of June, and first part of July. Will
spend 4-5 days in Munich, so will have the VW spirit around us, I suppose.
I remember a lot of nice VW memorabilia stuff selling at the big museum in
Munich.

Mary Beth and I plan on departing mid-September for a bus route up to Hot
Springs, up Arkansas scenic route 7, then over into Southern Illinois,
acrosslower Indiana, lower Ohio, and into West Virginia &Western
Pennsylvania. Will sched the route timings to maximize the foliage change.
Probably will return home when we feel we have had enough; last of October,
or mid-November.

There are some really great state park camping areas available to us, as
wellas Corps of Engineers lake sites.

BTW, my plans are to erect a large military style cook tent out on our
WallerCounty property during November, and pretty much live out there on the
6 acres for 4-6 weeks, doing some minor scrub pine clean-up at a bit at a
time pace, reading, sitting, radio, goofing off, etc.

Anyone wanting to come hang out during that time frame and weekend it with
meis surely welcome. Not much to offer other than solitude and a fireside,
but it beats some things that come to mind.

My new engine rebuild still sounds sweet, and I am pleased with the results.
Looking forward to having the engine push us around this Fall.
