I'd support and help promote the heck outta that. Having done a few shows, I'd
be glad to help with any guidance, etc. Porta potties run about $75 a piece for
a day if I remember right.

Subject: [tcb] My VW Show

Hey Gang,

So all this talk about VW shows has reminded me of an idea that I had right
after we went to T@TP this year. I have also heard a lot of the stuff ya'll
like and dont like about shows, so jump on board and help me make this idea
great - So my dad has a “ranch” he currently has 31 acres and will have another
39 that he has under contract right next door. It’s in Tioga (11 miles from
Denton) which is about 1 hour north of Dallas. It’s beautiful out there and
it’s a great drive too. I’ll try to get some pix when I’m up there on
Thanksgiving.

So my idea is to have a Car Show/Camp Out/Cruise out at the ranch. There is
about 16 acres in the middle of the woods that cleared out, it will need to be
mowed down and cleaned up a bit but we could probably fit 150 cars or so
including room for campsites. It's a very short walk down to through Core land
to Lake Ray Roberts.

I would like it to be a charity show benefiting the National Marfan’s
Foundation www.marfan.org it’s a connective tissue disorder that is hereditary
in my family and a few of my friend’s families. It would have a $20 entry,
silent auction, and sponsers.

I’m thinking either a spring or fall show I would prefer fall but don’t want to
interfere with Paul’s show.

I’m thinking the show would be open to all vintage cars, but focused on VW's,
camping Friday, fishing in the stocked pond, or Lake Ray Roberts, Canoe rides,
Tracker hay rides and bon fires. Saturday cook out, and a cruise around
historic Pilot Point (5 miles away) or maybe to Denton, then a keg of beer or
something. Sunday we could have the show in the Pilot Point old down town
square, i think there is around 90-120 parking spaces.

So that’s my idea – what you guys think?

What all would it take, when would be the best time to host this show?

Who do I get for sponsors?

What did i forget?

How much does generator/lights/port0potties cost?

Anyone want to come play?
