So, since I ran Murray in to the tree, he has not had a parcel tray. I took it out before the big stretch. And if you all remember I got fed up with electrical problems and had a local guy here, Tark, do a complete electrical make over using a fuse block and relay/flasher system from a Saab. (He calls all the cars he does this to "Lars"). So, a couple of months or so, I put back in the parcel tray (it doesn't fit right because the bus has a new shape, but that is a whole nother story). Anyway, since I did that my turn signals won't work, they just stay on when I pull down the switch. I figured that I had loosened some connectors, or something, but I searched and lay upside down between the seat and the steering column (which isn't comfortable with still tender ribs) but could never find anything. The weather has gotten much warmer here, and Brad and Dave Heilleman and I all brought out our busses out last night for our club meeting. Again, I search for the disconnection , or whatever, and again find nothing So, finally, on the way to the meeting, I take Murray to Tark and tell him the problem, and he bent in there, with me holding the door open and saying that he could take out the kick panel, since I had removed all but one screw for him. He hummed and hawed and came out with.a blown fuse. He went and got a new one and popped it in.done. How embarrassing. A fuse never even occurred to me. Why would the dash light work at all if the fuse was burned? Why wouldn't it just be dark? He explained about the turn signal switch, something about the electricity to the flasher, blah blah blah. That was it. No charge. On your way. Months of aggravation, fixed in minutes. Let this be a lesson to you, FRED. Take your bus, with it's hot coil, to someone who KNOWS. Use your AAA to tow it for you. Lots of time and aggravation can be saved.
