I had forgotten about that in VW history; but it for all intent and puposes
killed the late VW split window commercial trucks in the US. Had it not been
for LBJ there would probably be a lot more SCs, DCs and panel vans in the US
today.

In case you haven't seen this article. I thought the chicken tax was later,
but it went into effect in 1963.
