Well, the sticky accelerator was because of all the rust on the driver
ide floorboard.
When looking at it I yanked up the passenger side rubber mat and that's
n beautiful shape. I never got to the driver side floor.
I've done a redneck repair for now. Looks like Schoefield is the only
ne that beats that particular panel for a '60 - '71 bay so it'll take
e a while to get one to weld in there.
But, with massaging and lots of PB!Blaster the accelerator now works
ine -- and the bus is inspected and road legal.
But, I have about a 6" arc of slop at the steering wheel that needs to
e adjusted out. I hate messing with the worm gear. Afraid I'll get it
oo tight and destroy the steering box in 500 miles.
After seeing the driver floor I was REALLY afraid of what the cargo
loor would look like with the wet plywood sitting on top of it.
Actually looks quite good. I'm going to strip that and paint it with
OR-15 before I put a new piece of wood down. I can get the 5'x5' BB in
/2" here locally so I can do the floor. It's the 1/4" sheets that I'll
ave to drive to Houston for. Still need to find time to go linoleum
hopping too. Trying to pattern match what I pulled out.
