You pay for convienience.  There used to be a place on the net, child protection network or some such that had good deals.  I can't find the URL at the present time but they
usually had some pairs come up.  I just purchased a set of 1974 plates, NOS on EBAY for $20 shipped.  I also have a set of 65s, NOS, that I'll be putting
up for sale shortly.
