Agreed, I haven't actually played with TextScout yet, but plan to use it on
my N86 as well as Beyo to see which one suits me better. I'm very concerned
though about the price of TextScout, over £800 is a considerable premium
even over KNFB, so it would have to be seriously worth this amount to
justify the expense. I've no problem with data use as my new plan on which
I upgraded with a free N86 includes the unlimited internet add-on.

The only downside to TextScout in my view is that you do need an Internet
connection to run it, since the OCR is done on a server. The upside, is
that the results are even more accurate than KNFB, and it decolumnises
better, stuff such as newspapers and magazines.
It is getting very interesting now with Beyo, KNFB and TextScout on the
scene.

TextScout does have some nice features, and the way it sends the image to
the server means that the application you put on your phone is comparatively
small, it also has a nice camera alignment assistant which really helps if
your not so steady handed or have never used a camera to take pictures of
anything before, but to be perfectly honest, KNFB reader is better value for
money although it lacks the bling of TextScout in my view.

Try www.textscout.eu. I did get an email from them about pricing as I
wanted to know the cost of the product, in our currency it works out to
around £810, and they sell it for 890 Euros, so a lot more expensive than
KNFB reader.
