Yes indeed Steve someone must come u with the solution. You won't actually be able to move through the document itself it will just be that Talks will start reading it. Don't know what I can do, but hopefully someone will come up with an idea, cheers Steve. ----- Original Message ----- From: Eleanor Burke To: talks-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Monday, March 16, 2009 10:03 PM Subject: [talks-uk] Re: Quick Office 6 Hi Steve I purchased the Quick Office or Quick World or whatever it is called. Now let me start from the beginning. With Quick Office Word Viewer you can open Word files and Talks will read them to you on the phone but you cannot Edit them. I had no problem in that regard. This evening I purchased via my phone the Quick Office Word 6.0 and now I can open the files and nothing happens in terms of reading them. However if you press key 1 and choose Edit then the file can be read and one can cursor through and edit it too. I am very pleased with my purchase. A few niggley things like Talks not reading the list of most recent files opened or used and indeed not reading the list of Word files but if I access the Word files via the folder I have them in and open them that way I am absolutely fine. Now the RTF files and TXT files. These files open in Notes. It is irritating for me that what I have on my computer in terms of RTF files look just like a Word document and read fine but once on the phone are opening in Notes and reading a whole load of stuff from the Website where I downloaded from, I refer to the written commands put in to put the documents on the website. Now Maybe I will have to convert these RTF files to Word 2003 Docs and then I might be fine but I've spent enough time this evening and willdo it tomorrow maybe. Notes are useful and have been for me prior to the release of Talks 4.0 but now if I am writing something I will open a new Word document on the phone and do it that way and then save it as a Word file. Hope this helps Steve. Well I've tried this and talks reads nothing. My wife says that the text is there but no go I'm afraid. Also does anyone know if there's a limit on the size of a .txt file that you can open on a mobile. I can open the default/system .txt files, but not any I've transfered to the phone. Talks says either the format is not supported or that there's not enough memory and to shut some programs down. Any ideas on what I can do...especially with the .doc files, as I thought talks 4 supported these. Cheers Steve. ----- Original Message ----- From: Eleanor Burke To: talks-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Monday, March 16, 2009 7:26 PM Subject: [talks-uk] Quick Office 6 I purchased this. Now I have a problem and I think Paul/ALL FORMATS has already discussed this. The fact that we cannot hear the names of the recent files. Have you Paul or anyone discovered how we can do this please? The other thing is this, is it just Word that we have purchased? Where are the other Applications, PowerPoint, Spreadsheets etc? I know these may not be accessible but are they there? The editing function is excellent I have to say. Eleanor ------------------------------------------------------------------------ I am using the Free version of SPAMfighter.
