Hi Steve

Thanks for this. I am asking on behalf of something who, because of a hearing difficulty, needs loudness even though this does sacrifice quality. I personally found that while the N95 8GB could go loud, the N82 could not go quite so loud, even if the sound quality was better all round.

Hi Barbara,

Yes, exactly. The N86 sounds a bit like the N82, but I like the sound better
on the N86.

All the best

Steve

Hi Steve

Probably not explaining what I am hearing very well. Not base exactly, but a

lower, deeper tone. I found while the N82 had good quality stereo sound, the

volume let it down. Are you saying the N86 is along those lines? Good
quality, but not massive volume? Asking because there are people because of
hearing who need actual loudness rather than rich quality sound. This is
without the excellent T3 speakers of course.

Hi Barbara,

No, not really. I think the N95 has no bass at all. Neither does the N86
though, so I use my T3 Airsound speakers for portable music playing.

Even that isn't real bass, but it is better.

All the best

Steve

Of course Steve I am being realistic. I don't expect the sort of base
you'd
get with a larger system. However, the N95 8GB while not basey, had a
lower
tone if you know what I am getting at?

Hi Barbara,

None of them are bassy, look at the size you are looking at. Let's be
realistic about this <Smile>.

Hi Steve

Well at least the speakers are on opposite sides. I didn't like them on
the
same side the way they were on the N82. Would you think the sound would
be
good enough for music and book listening? I found personally on the N82
that

the sound was not very basey? How does that compare to N86?

Hi Barbara,

Sound is subjective. It is not as loud as the N95, but I prefer the
sound.

Speakers are either side of the phone as you are looking at the display.

All the best

Steve

Can someone tell me is the sound quality when playing music on the N86
equal
to that on the N95 8GB? Also, are the speakers on the N86 both on the
same
side like the N82 or on opposite sides like the N95?

Thanks

Barbara
