Hi Walter

I think it's important to go for the deal and tariff that suits you. If you are not a heavy user, then where's the point in going for a dear tariff just to get a free phone as you'll pay for it in the longrun.

I've seen a 6210. Not really used one, just had a play so can't really comment on how good or not it is.

Hi Barbara. OK, based on getting the 85 if I wanted to remain on my current plan which is £19.99 a month and includes 125 minutes cross network any time
and stop the clock and 250 texts I would have to pay a one of payment for
the 85 of £80. If I took 250 texts and 700 minutes it wouldn't cost me
anything for the phone but my monthly charge would be £30. If I took 250
texts 600 minutes cross network anytime and unlimited land line calls it
would cost me £35 a month plus £25 as a one of payment. Now having said
all that. Here's the thing, I have decided to go for the 6210 navigator.
This phone is newer than the N96 and the keys are distinctive. It will
handle a 16gig card although it comes with a 1gig card. I get 6 months GPS
free to play with and I am getting the phone free on a 24 month contract
with the plan I have at the moment unchanged. I will get the phone on
Wednesday, it would have been Tuesday but I will be out that day and it will come with Talks on the phone already installed and on the phone only and not as they have done previously with my other phones part on the phone and part on the memory card. I can if I wish return it within 7 days if I don't like
it. Now the reason I didn't go for the 85 was the guy told me that
Voedafone won't be releasing it until the end of July as it is partly touch screen. It has two touch screen buttons that will involve social networking
services that Voedafone is launching later this month to coincide with the
release of the phone. The N85 from Voedafone is different from the other
N85's you will get from other sources as it has been adapted for Voedafone to handle "Voedafone Live." the guy said I would find the 85 harder to use
than the 96 as the keypad is even more flush and little to distinguish the
keys. He also said the music player in the 6210 is just as good as any of
the players in the N series, the same player in fact and he said he does
some DJing and he is aware of music quality. So, I don't know if anyone has
used the 6210 but if anyone has I would be happy for your input. Walter.

Hi Walter

What sort of contract are you going for? Do you TALk, text or surf a lot?
With Vodafone I have 250 texts, 750 minutes, free landline calls and
unlimited Web and Email for £35.00 per month. I also got a phone for free.

Hi Barbara. Your view is of value and I appreciate it. Voedafone doesn't
do the 86 so whether it was fully supported or not, it is accademic. I
think I've nothing to lose by going for it, the 85 that is. I guess now
the
only thing to decide is the price plan. It ranges from getting the phone
for nothing to paying £80 as a one off payment, either way, it involves a
24
months contract. Thanks for your help. Walter.

If this helps Walter. I've never seen the N85 or N86, but believe they are
both good phones. Currently the N85 works with TALKS, but the N86 is not
fully supported.

Quite. An N model is what you need then, Walter. I have no knowledge
of the N models so can't help I'm afraid.

Good luck!

Hi Amro. A good player with lots of storage space is what I'm looking
for
and I was given the option of an E model but when I discovered that it
is
business orientated and the music player is basically an add on I
decided
to
stick to the N series. I would just like to know that if I went for the
N85
I wouldn't be swapping like for like with my N95 as on the face of it,
there
doesn't seem to be much difference apart from the model name. Walter.

Hi Walter, if you don't use your mobile to play music, audio books and
other
media files that often, you can have a look at the Nokia E series
models.
I
personally prefer the E models, I find them more elegant and certainly
smaller than the N models. The E phones are the Nokia business series.

HTH,
Amro

Hi folks. I was speaking to Voedafone today regarding my upgrade. As
Steve
mentioned last night I asked them about the N85 and the N86. They
don't
do
the 86 but do the 85. What would you say about these handsets; which
of
them is the better option. Of course we are talking about talks here
so
even though a handset might be superior, in the balance when Talks is
added
into the equation, the most technically superior machine might not be
the
"best." The N96 is not very ergonomically
good as a result of it's keypad being so flush. So the N95 and N85
would,
or could be considered superior. If I discounted the N96 and opted to
either keep my N95 or go for the N85 would I merely be swapping like
for
like? Is there any real difference between the N85 and the N95 apart
from
the N85 being a newer model? All of you who have an opinion and
especially
if you have had experience with any of these handsets your contribution
would be welcomed. Walter.
